The former chief financial officer for New Mexico’s Early Childhood Education and Care Department is suing the agency, alleging she was forced out after raising concerns about an 83-million-dollar shortfall in the state’s childcare program; New Mexico’s Supreme Court has ruled that statements Alexee Trevizo made in the emergency room can’t be used against her in the newborn death case out of Eddy County.
