After hours of heated debate, Democratic state lawmakers forced through House Bill 9, the so-called Immigrant Safety Act, despite that could mean mass job losses, municipal insolvency and a collapse of rural economies in Otero, Torrance and Cibola Counties. Opponents are urging voters to call the governor’s office at 505-476-2200, and asking her to veto the bill.
